OKO-tech Expands Its Portfolio with OKO-pfasorb for PFAS Removal

PFAS Removal from Industrial Wastewater with New Adsorption Technology

Requirements for water and wastewater treatment continue to evolve. The removal of PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) is becoming increasingly important across industry, municipal water management and environmental applications. In response to these developments, OKO-tech is expanding its product portfolio with OKO-pfasorb, a new range of treatment systems for water streams contaminated with PFAS.

The OKO-pfasorb range is based on a high-performance adsorbent designed to remove both long-chain and short-chain PFAS compounds. It offers operators of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants, as well as organisations involved in groundwater remediation and drinking water treatment, a space-saving and cost-effective solution for PFAS removal.

Compact Design, High Performance

A key advantage of this advanced adsorbent is the combination of high adsorption capacity and a small footprint. The short required contact time of less than one minute allows for smaller vessel volumes, with up to 40 times less adsorbent volume required compared with granular activated carbon. This offers significant potential, particularly when retrofitting existing treatment systems or working with limited installation space.

In addition, the high PFAS adsorption capacity and extended maintenance intervals reduce the frequency of media replacement and the volume of material requiring disposal. This can help operators manage operating costs while responding to increasingly stringent water treatment requirements.

Flexible Integration into Existing Systems

The OKO-pfasorb range can be integrated into existing treatment systems or used as a standalone treatment stage. Standard vessel sizes range from 30 to 3,000 litres, with project-specific sizes also available. This makes the solution suitable for both pilot applications and permanent installations with varying flow rates.

The Importance of New PFAS Limit Values

The introduction of new PFAS limit values, particularly for drinking water, is increasing the need for action across the water sector. Companies and operators who adapt their treatment processes to future requirements at an early stage can improve planning certainty and help manage long-term investment and operating costs.

OKO-tech: For a Cleaner Future

With the launch of the OKO-pfasorb product range, OKO-tech is expanding its portfolio with an advanced solution for PFAS removal. The technology can be flexibly integrated into existing systems and can help operators address current and future wastewater treatment requirements.
