OKO-ewcs Now Available for Hire
With the OKO-ewcs, OKO-tech offers a robust, mobile solution for cost-effective sludge dewatering.
New: The dewatering container is now also available for hire.
Not every company wants to invest in its own equipment straight away. Hiring can be an attractive alternative to purchasing, particularly when the aim is to assess the actual dewatering potential, the achievable reduction in sludge volume or possible savings in disposal and transport costs.
The OKO-ewcs allows companies to trial sludge dewatering under real operating conditions and assess the solution against their own requirements.
Rent a Dewatering Container Instead of Making a Large Initial Investment
Purchasing equipment is not always the most economical decision from the outset. Seasonal operating requirements, fluctuating sludge volumes, temporary projects or the need for practical trials may all favour a more flexible solution.
That is why OKO-tech now offers the OKO-ewcs for hire.
The Hiring Option Offers:
- No large initial investment
- Predictable operating costs
- Practical trials under real operating conditions
- Flexible use for seasonal or temporary requirements
- Assessment of actual cost-saving potential
- A sound basis for deciding whether to purchase at a later stage
This allows companies to evaluate how their own sludge responds to dewatering and assess the potential for reducing sludge volume and disposal costs.
Why Are Certain Types of Sludge So Difficult to Dewater?
Oil separator sludge, for example, can present particular challenges. It may contain surfactants, mineral oil hydrocarbons (MOH) and a high proportion of very fine particles.
In some cases, up to 95% of the particles in such sludge may be smaller than 63 µm. Their fine structure creates microscopic capillary spaces that retain water. Much like a sponge, the sludge holds on to this water, making it difficult to remove.
Conventional static dewatering can therefore quickly reach its limits with these types of sludge.
One alternative is high-pressure dewatering, for example using a chamber filter press. The OKO-ewcs takes a different approach: vibration instead of high pressure.
Vibration Supports Sludge Dewatering
The OKO-ewcs can be equipped with an optional vibration module designed to act directly on the sludge structure.
The sieve basket is mounted on a vibrating support and set in motion. This loosens the sludge structure and promotes water release. Water previously retained within the sludge can drain more readily through the filter mesh.
The result is improved dewatering performance using comparatively simple, robust technology.
The OKO-ewcs can operate using gravity drainage as standard, or be fitted with an optional vibration module to enhance dewatering performance.
Robust. Mobile. Designed for Practical Use.
The OKO-ewcs is based on a standard skip-loader container system in accordance with DIN 30720 and is designed for robust, mobile operation.
The sieve basket walls and dewatering platform are fitted with durable PE filter mesh. The basket frame is made of stainless steel, while the container is galvanised inside and out.
In addition to providing mechanical protection, galvanising offers electrochemical corrosion protection, helping to extend the service life of the steel structure.
The container can be transported, is straightforward to operate and can be emptied by tipping it.
Optional Features
- Vibration module to enhance dewatering performance
- Level measurement for demand-based monitoring
- Cover sheet
- Filling chutes
Key Benefits of the OKO-ewcs at a Glance
Cost-effective sludge dewatering
A robust solution for treating sludge where simple static drainage is insufficient.
Reduced sludge volume
Removing water reduces the moisture content of the sludge and therefore the volume that needs to be transported.
Potential savings in disposal costs
Less water in the sludge means less mass to transport and dispose of. This can help reduce ongoing disposal costs.
Enhanced dewatering performance
The optional vibrating screen supports water release more effectively than static drainage alone and can offer advantages, particularly with difficult-to-dewater sludge.
Mobile and flexible
The skip-loader container system allows flexible transport and straightforward emptying by tipping.
Robust construction
The galvanised container, stainless steel basket frame and durable PE filter mesh are designed for demanding operating conditions.
